SAM development

CLAVATA3 : express in central zone of shoot apical meristem, mutation of CLAVATA3 will lead to enlargement of SAM and over proliferation of cells in central zone.  Knock down CLAVATA3 by RNAi inducible system, shows that CLAVATA3 play a key role in determine the boundary of central zone and peripheral zone within the meristem.

FON4: ortholog to CLAVATA3 in Oryza Sativa, mutation of FON4 will increase stamen and carpel number, and it will affect floral development in rice. However, FON4 may have different function as comparing to CLAVATA3.

CLE motif:     a molecular paly a key role in extracellular signaling transduction pathway, CLE-mediated signalling pathway seems to affect lot's of plants development in whole life cycle.
